Smashbox | Studio Skin 1.2

Smashbox Studio Skin
Shade 1.2

After living off a tiny tester pot of this stuff, I couldn't resist going and buying the full thing. The packaging is pretty simple although it really reminds me of Mac's foundation, apart from the fact that you actually get the pump included with this instead of having to buy it separately.

The foundation itself gives me just enough coverage without leaving my skin looking 'cakey' but definitely is a high coverage meaning I don't tend to reach for it on a day-to-day basis but more if my skin needs a little extra help or I'm heading on a night out.

I've found using my beauty blender (newly found favourite tool) to buff out the product all over my face is the perfect way to get a flawless finish that lasts….talking of lasting, I trialled the '15 hour wear' statement you can see on the bottle and believe it or not but it's actually not too bad. I wore it for a 12 hour shift last week and it didn't oxidise, dry out my skin nor did it do the opposite of leaving me oily and in desperate need of some powder. It's definitely an underdog in the foundation world as without the little tester pot I probably would have never even considered buying/trialling it.

One last thing, don't bother trying to match your skin tone to a shade yourself, 99% of the time you'll probably be wrong and plus, they always have assistants on hand in Boots to help you.
